Sonic Confirmed for ‘Super Smash Bros.’

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has announced Sonic will be included in next year’s Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U as a playable character.

The announcement was made during today’s Nintendo Direct, alongside a new trailer focusing on Sonic’s inclusion.

Sonic was also included in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Nintendo Wii, so the inclusion isn’t much of a surprise.

With Sonic’s confirmation and the fact Nintendo is publishing three Sonic titles, could we possibly see more playable characters from the Sonic universe? Shadow anyone? Only time will tell.
