‘Skylanders Trap Team’ Launches in Australia

Activision has announced that Skylanders Trap Team is now available in Australia for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U, alongside a unique adventure for the Nintendo 3DS. The launch also coincides with the console gaming experience on Tablet, with a Starter Pack that supports iPad, Kindle Fire and Android Tablets.

Skylanders Trap Team allows players to defeat and then capture new villains throughout Skylands, utilising the new magical Traps in order to trap them into the new Traptanium Portal. Once captured villains can be sent back into the game in order to use their abilities to fight for good. Players will also be able to hear these trapped villains within their Traps, as an added sense of capturing these villainous individuals.

Skylanders Trap Team will also contain an array of brand new Skylanders characters and reposed fan-favourite Skylanders characters. Trap Team will also be compatible with more than 175 toys from all previous Skylanders games, such as SWAP Force, Giants and the original Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure.

“The Skylanders franchise was built on a foundation of creativity and innovation,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. “And with Skylanders Trap Team, we’re taking that that tradition of innovation to new heights. For the last three years we’ve allowed kids to bring their toys to life in a video game, and this year, we’re letting them reach into the game, and pull characters out into the physical world by letting players trap and play as the villains

“Skylanders Trap Team is also the first console game to simultaneously bring the entire AAA experience to tablet devices.” Hirshberg stated. “Overall, we think Skylanders Trap Team represents our most magical innovations yet. But most importantly, it’s just a great game.”
