Razer Working With Intel to Deliver 3D-Scanning Camera

Razer has announced it will be working with Intel to deliver a consumer-ready desktop and VR-enabled camera based on Intel RealSense technology.

RealSense Technology has been incorporated into the new Razer design so users can enjoy a significantly enhanced game broadcasting and VR enabled gaming features. Users will be able to automatically remove backgrounds, allowing both streamers and video conferencing users to replace the background for a more entertaining and visually immersive experience for viewers. The Intel RealSense is also capable of 3D scanning, motion and gesture recognition, which allows product designers to bring objects and bodies into a virtual space. Even more features and related applications are anticipated to be announced for the Intel RealSense camera before release.

During the Intel Developer Forum currently being held in San Francisco, Intel and Razer will be teaming up to showcase broadcasting and OSVR demos using Intel RealSense technology. The demos available will include Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applications running on PCs.
