Kickstarter Campaign for Open World Space Combat Title – Skyjacker

Independent developer Digitilus LLC has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for its first person space combat simular – Skyjacker.

Digitilus is looking to raise $150,000 USD that will be used for co-op multiplayer and a mission creator system. It will feature open world battles where players must use their customizable ships to hijack, destroy and look enemy vessels during combat missions.

Players will have full control of their ships visual design with the customizable ship creator, as they take control of the space pirate Ael as he takes down a ruthless race of aliens.

Digitilus has set their Skyjacker Kickstarter goal to be met by November 22, all backers will receive a copy of the game including other rewards depending on the amount of money put towards the project.

“We started development of SKYJACKER because we noticed there was a lack of quality space combat games for fans of the genre, and as space exploration enthusiasts we wanted to change this,” said Eugene Zhukov, CEO of Digitilus.

“Since introducing SKYJACKER to the community, we’ve received immense support from players and although we are committed to funding and completing the project ourselves, a successful Kickstarter will enable us to solidify the game and speed up the launch, providing galactic aficionados with all the features they want, much sooner than planned.”

If Skyjacker sounds like something you would be interested in, you can play the Skyjacker alpha demo here or even help fund the Kickstarter project itself here.

Skyjacker will launch in summer of 2014 for Windows PC, Linux and Mac as a single purchase download.
