‘Halo: Spartan Assault’ Announced For Windows 8 Devices
Microsoft and 343 Industries has announced Halo: Spartan Assault, for Windows 8 devices.
Spartan Assault is a top-down, twin stick shooter due to release this July for Windows 8 owners. Though Spartan Assault seems like a typical arcade experience, players will be able to customise their roles on the battlefield with various load-outs, while being able to control classic Halo vehicles like the warthog.
Located below are some concept arts that were created for Spartan Assault.
Halo fans will expect the typical expansive battlefields they have experienced on consoles, with players able to control their movements with the left stick, while controlling their line of fire with the right stick. Throwing grenades and entering vehicles will use a simple touch mechanic.
Sarah Palmer, the UNSC Commander and veteran of the First and Second Battle of Requiem returns for Spartan Assault. The games narrative will take shape in a similar fashion to Spartan Ops, with players running tactical simulations, that will include daily challenges to relive legendary battles from Halo lore. Halo 4 owners will also unlock new content for their game by completing challenges, with Halo Waypoint unlocks also available.
Below are a plethora of screenshots of Halo: Spartan Assault in action, looking exceptionally beautiful on Windows 8.
Halo: Spartan Assault looks to push the boundaries of Windows 8, bringing the authentic Halo experience. Xbox fans may be disappointed that the game will not be appearing on consoles at this time, but this is definitely a huge push for Windows 8 as a gaming platform.
