Grand Theft Auto III Release Delayed

One of the highest selling titles in the entire history of the PlayStation 2, Grand Theft Auto III was meant to be released on the PlayStation Store in North America this week, after being the existence of the title was leaked via ESRB certification earlier this year. Strangely it was pulled from release under 24 hours before it was scheduled to go live, this is apparently only a temporary delay.

We will be waiting a little longer

The PlayStation Blog has addressed this sudden delay in their weekly post outlining the PlayStation Store updates. In which they say this, “Note: Due to an unforeseen complication, the Grand Theft Auto III PS2 Classic is not publishing with today’s Store post. We will update you when a new release date has been identified. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

This is a strange delay as the game was apparently ready for release and was confirmed late last week.

Is there a reason for this delay? When we find out, we will let you know, stay tuned.
