Gamescom 2014: ‘Quantum Break’ Gameplay Revealed

Sam Lake, Remedy’s creative director has showcased the first live gameplay footage from their Xbox One exclusive title, Quantum Break

The footage began with our protagonist Jack Choice making his way out of a building, to a gorgeous location overlooking a river. Jack Choice was caught in an explosion which has enabled him to manipulate time.

Once the third person gunplay combat began we were showcased Jack Choice’s time manipulation abilities, which allow him to slow down time and become a blur as he moves from cover to cover. Time is breaking down throughout Quantum Break and when time slows down, Jack is unaffected allowing him to move through the environment throughout these time sequences.

Gameplay and cinematics fluidly intercepted one another, as the graphical fidelity of  the gameplay closely resembled that of the cinematics.

The demo ended with Jack Choice facing off against a juggernaut enemy type, who was armed with a destructive weapon and a lot of armour. Utilising his time manipulation abilities Jack is able to get the jump on his opponent and eventually take them down.

Quantum Break is scheduled to release exclusively for Xbox One.
