‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Producers Behind ‘Gran Turismo’ Movie

TheWrap reports Sony looks to turn their most popular exclusive franchise into the next fast car movie hit. This isn’t the first racing series to receive a film adaption, with EA revealing at E3 that Need for Speed would be coming to cinemas.

The Fast & the Furious series has become one of cinemas biggest franchises, with Sony hopefully willing to cash-in on this popular market. The Gran Turismo series has sold over 70 million copies worldwide and the latest release Gran Turismo 6, will release exclusively on PlayStation 3 later this year.

Gran Turismo is known for providing realistic simulation racing, so it will be interesting to see how a movie adaption would work. It obviously couldn’t follow the direction of Need for Speed, as both series provide completely different experiences.

Are you looking forward to a Gran Turismo film? Or have we seen enough fast car flicks lately?
