EA Announces Andrew Wilson As New CEO

EA has announced Andrew Wilson, former EA Sports executive vice president, will now be taking over as EA’s new CEO.

Wilson outlined his three main focuses while in his new position on an EA blog post: “Continued transformation for our digital future; Delivering amazing games and services across platforms; and instilling a culture of execution that will drive profitable growth.”

Wilson also explained his vision for EA going forward, “I envision EA as the World’s Greatest Games Company.  This is not about what we are aiming for or what we will become.  Rather, it is about an unfaltering commitment to what we will be every day.  This is an attitude that must drive our culture as one team.”

The announcement dispels rumours that were pointing to the appointment of Peter Moore for the position. Wilson has been with the company since 2000, bringing 13 years of experience to the position.

The change comes after Larry Probst temporarily took over from the departure of John Riccitello in March of this year. It has been confirmed Probst will now be the executive chairman of EA.
