E3 2014 – Nathan Drake Thinks ‘Uncharted 4’ May Be The Last

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was officially confirmed this week, leaving Uncharted fans smiling as Sony’s E3 press conference ended confirming Nathan Drake will be returning for the PlayStation 4 exclusive. Though it seems Uncharted 4 may very well be the last in the series, according to the voice behind Nathan Drake.

In an interview with IGN, well-known video game actor, Nolan North, has explained that he believes that this is the last installment that Naughty Dog want to create in the Uncharted franchise. North also admits he hopes if this is the case, that the Uncharted series won’t continue in the hands of another studio.

“It’s bittersweet but at a certain point you want to go out on top,” North told IGN. “If this is the last one indeed, and I believe it’s the last one – nothing’s confirmed, but I believe it’s the last one Naughty Dog wants to do, in which case I hope somebody else doesn’t pick up the mantle because they’ve done it so well for so long – but yeah, it’s one of those things where you just have to cross that bridge when you get to it.

“I like the idea of going out on top so we better do a hell of a job with this one… and it’s already looking pretty good.”

Though Uncharted fans may be saddened by the news, ending the series on a high note is certainly not a bad way to finish. Let’s also keep in mind that plans can change rapidly in the video games industry, what may be the case today, may not be the case in a few years time.

Either way, fans will get their hands on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in 2015, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
