E3 2014 – ‘Dragon Ball Xenoverse’ Announced, Trailer, Screenshots

Bandai Namco Games Europe has announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse, the first Dragon Ball title to grace the next generation consoles, while also releasing for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Which is being developed by Japanese studio Dimps, the team behind the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai series.

As previously mentioned this will be the franchises first appearance on next generation hardware, allowing fans to see Goku and his friends in the most visually impressive way possible. Xenoverse will also feature all new gameplay, alongside a new world set up, a mysterious city and many more features to be announced over the coming months.

Hardcore Dragon Ball Z fans (as myself) will certainly notice a change in the Dragon Ball Z narrative above, with a mysterious character interrupting the legendary first battle between Goku and Vegeta. Though there is no reveal as to the characters identity, above are some character art giving us a better look at the character; from behind at least.

Dragon Ball franchise is one of the biggest series ever created and is a reference for generations of manga and anime fans since 30 years now, said Herve Hoerdt, Vice President of IP Strategy, Marketing & PR at Bandai Namco Games Europe. Bringing  Dragon Ball Xenoverse to New-Gen platforms and having a studio as experienced as Dimps is key for a massive hit in order to top all Dragon Ball fans’ expectations!

Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, though no solid release date or window was revealed.
