Dead Space 3 – Better With Kinect Trailer

Late last year Visceral Studios confirmed integration of the Xbox 360’s Kinect voice commands in their latest title, Dead Space 3. Though we had heard from sources the commands worked, there was little to no footage of these commands being used.

The latest trailer from EA and Visceral fixes this problem, focusing entirely on Kinect functionality and showcasing these commands being used inside a co-operative experience.

“One of the things we wanted to do with Kinect, was to make sure we were able to utilize it in a way that really benefited players while they were playing normal Dead Space” stated Executive Producer for Dead Space 3 Steve Papoutsis.

In this trailer we were given a complete showcase of what Kinect is able to provide players, with a sizable chunk of commands now confirmed for players, including:

  1. Using stasis

  2. Quick heal

  3. Find objective

  4. Find partner

  5. Revive partner

  6. Reload weapon

  7. Give ammo

  8. Give stasis

  9. Switch Weapon

All these players commands are meant to allow seamless voice controls for yourself and a partner, while you deal with those pesky necromorphs.

Dead Space 3 releases in less than a month’s time, hitting North America shelves February 5, Australia February 7 and Europe February 8 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
