Darksiders II Rewards Long Time Fans

Vigil Games and THQ have announced that long time fans of the Darksiders series, will be rewarded with extra equipment when they first load up the sequel in less than 2 weeks.

THQ has said that if you have played the first game in the series, you will automatically receive a legendary level five armour piece known as the Pauldron of the Horseman, this will increase the critical damage stats of Death in the upcoming game.  If you completed the original game you will also be treated with the Chaos Fang, this new scythe weapon will increase the damage Death is able to dish out upon his enemies.

These items will unlock in a similar vein to Dead Space 2, when I first loaded up the sequel it was able to determine how much of the original I had played by looking at my Xbox 360 achievements. This is the exact same method that will be put into place with Darksiders II, the content will appear right away allowing you to get straight in to the game with extra content.

The company has stated that they wanted to really reward and appreciate the fans who have supported the series from the beginning,  which in my opinion is a really commendable move on their part.

Darksiders II is less than two weeks away from its release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. With the Wii U version to be released with the systems launch later this year
