Custom Themes Coming to PS Vita

During Sony’s pre-TGS conference in Japan, it was revealed that the PS Vita’s new firmware will include the ability to use custom themes.

Known as Update 3.30 the new customisation options will be similar to the current customisable themes available on PlayStation 3, with themes changing the background and icons on their system.

Little else is known about Update 3.30 and what other details will be includes, but as of now it has only been discussed for the Japanese market. When the update is released the PS Vita will initially support four themes from varying titles, such as Freedom Wars, Danganronpa: Another Episode, Phantasy Star Nova and Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines.

PS Vita owners have been able to alter the background display of Sony’s handheld since release, though icons and unified themes have always been kept standard.
