Crytek Reveal Further Information Regarding ‘Homefront: The Revolution’, Company Future
Following the recent announcement that Koch Media has acquired the Homefront intellectual property and all “coherent” assets to the Homefront: The Revolution title, Crytek has offered further information on what this means for Crytek as a company and the status of their upcoming title, Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age.
Crytek has been in extensive discussions with Koch Media regarding the Homefront IP, that Koch Media has now acquired. Discussions have also been made regarding Crytek’s Nottingham studio and hopes to have the talents that were working on Homefront: The Revolution transfer to Koch Media, in order to continue their work on the upcoming deal. The transfer needs to comply with English law and both parties hope to finalise and implement the deal soon.
Crytek’s restructuring has also effected the development of Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, which was originally being developed at Crytek USA. The development will now be moved to Crytek Frankfurt, though Crytek will still have a presence at their Crytek USA studio in Austin as several staff members will maintain the CryEngine support team to assist North American licensees. Those who will not be apart of this new support team have been invited to apply for new positions with Crytek in Germany.
“As we look to cement Crytek’s future, this strategic deal with Koch Media would allow us to continue with our ambitious goals to become an online publisher.” Said Crytek founder and CEO, Cevat Yerli. “With Warface, Arena of Fate and Hunt, we believe we have the perfect portfolio and teams to make that happen. We would like to thank all our staff – past and present – in both Nottingham and Austin for their contributions to the company, and we wish all the very best to anyone who may no longer be under the Crytek banner moving forward.”
Crytek has confirmed their studio’s in Budapest, Istanbul, Kiev and Sofia will continue to operate as normal, though a closer collaboration between Crytek’s Shanghai and Seoul studios is now under review.
