Crysis 3 Open Multiplayer Beta Announced
It was announced today that the soon-to-be released sandbox shooter experience Crysis 3, published by EA Games and developed by Crytek would be receiving an open multiplayer beta. The open multiplayer beta will begin this January 29 and will close on February 22, the beta will be live on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The beta itself will include two team-based modes and two maps, this beta will give players the ability to master the powers of the Nanosuit. Giving those who try out the beta a chance to refine their skills, before it releases in North America on February 19, February 21 in Australia and February 22 release in New Zealand and Europe.
“With Crysis 3 we are delivering the deepest, most robust Crysis multiplayer experience yet,” CEO of Crytek Cevat Yerl, had to say, “We have listened closely to our fans and have evolved the multiplayer in Crysis 3 by adding a host of new gameplay features including the unique Hunter mode”. Hunter Mode is the latest multiplayer addition to be included in the Crysis multiplayer suite, tasking CELL troopers to stay alive during their confrontation with the Hunters. Each match starts with 2 Hunters vs 10 CELL Troopers (2 vs 14 on PC), the Hunters are armed with the Nanosuit cloaking ability and the lethal Predator bow. CELL Troopers must work together to stay alive, while the two hunters cooperate to systematically kill the CELL. The cruel twist is that every time a CELL Trooper dies, they become a Hunter adding to the frantic urge for survival until that clock hits zero.
The Crysis 3 multiplayer beta will feature 2 out of the 12 maps on offer at launch, called Airport and Museum. Both maps were chosen to provides players a taste of the urban rainforest they will encounter under the Liberty Dome of New York City. Also included in the beta will be the New York Feed, the brand new social aspect of Crysis 3 multiplayer. Allowing players to showcase their achievements to gamers and their friends, plus offering dynamic challenging to complete. Multiplayer will also feature a brand new concept called Rip & Throw, this feature allows players to interact with the world around them to use the environment as weapons or shields. This also allows player to control the Pinger, which is a fearsome alien tripod war machine that can be used to strike fear in your enemies.
