Could Climax Studios Be Working On Next ‘Prince of Persia’?

Images that have been posted on Climax Studios’ website related to a unannounced “Character Action Platformer“, bare a striking resemblance to the Prince of Persia franchise.

The character featured in the image above bares a striking resemblance to the Sands of Time protagonist, from the red sash, white vest and even Middle-Eastern setting. Climax recently worked on Smart As, a brain training puzzle game for the PlayStation Vita and have a long history in the handheld game space. Though this could definitely be a new game entirely, the resemblance is unquestionably apparent.

One of the images showcases a purple fog that seems to have engulfed the environment, though elements such as these have not been seen in a Prince of Persia title, when your main premise is rewinding time magic could definitely fit into the games aesthetic.

Ubisoft recently stated the franchise was on “On Hold“, yet revealed last week the series was continuing on mobile devices and tablets with the Prince of Persia: Shadow of the Flames remake announced. IGN reached out to Ubisoft for further comment, only to be told “there is no new information to share in regard to Prince of Persia.”

Could this be a new game in the Prince of Persia series? Or possibly a brand new title entirely? We will update you if we hear more on the status of this mysterious title.
