Coloured PlayStation 3’s Confirmed for Australian Release

Two week ago Sony announced the release of the Azurite Blue and Garnet Red versions of the PlayStation 3 coming to Japan, I am happy to announce these consoles have now been confirmed for an Australian release.

These consoles will be released in 500GB models and will be priced at $399.99 in Australian retailers.

These beautiful machines will be available from February 21, a week earlier than our Japanese counterparts who receive them on February 28. While the UK has also been confirmed of the consoles release, however they will get it another week earlier on February 15.

These bright new versions of the PlayStation 3 will be the newly redesigned models, featuring a top-loader disc system and including their own colourized controller.

These new systems have still yet to be confirmed for a North American release. But we have seen previous colour iterations of Sony’s console launching there before, with the White edition of the PlayStation 3 confirmed for launch a few weeks prior.
