‘Black Ops 2: Uprising’ DLC Releasing April 17

Activision has announced the second downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, arriving on April 17 the content is entitled Uprising. Alongside 4 brand new maps, players will also experience the new zombie-adventure “Mob of the Dead“.

Uprising will be released exclusively on Xbox 360 due to Microsoft’s 30 day exclusivity on Call of Duty DLC, we would assume other iterations of Black Ops 2 will receive the content during the month of May. The stand-out of Uprising is “Mob of the Dead“, taking place in Alcatraz with four of the most iconic mobster voices Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Joe Pantoliano, and Michael Madsen.

“With Uprising, the team has really outdone itself again,” said Mark Lamia, Treyarch’s Studio Head.  “In addition to creating four amazing new multiplayer maps, the Studio has been hard at work on the Zombies front to surpass what we accomplished with  ‘Call of the Dead.’  What they’ve done this time around is nothing Zombies fans have seen before – and if you don’t believe me, just wait until you get into Purgatory.”

“Mob of the Dead” will feature Billy Handsome (Liotta), Al “The Weasel” Arlington (Pantoliano), Salvatore “Sal” DeLuca (Palmentiri), and Michael “Finn” O’Leary (Madsen) as they are serving time in Alcatraz. They plan to escape the prison, however their plans are thwarted when the rise of the undead causes them to use their time for much more pressing matters. The cool twist is when players are sent to the afterlife, they will appear in Purgatory. Giving them their own set of objectives, offering players something unique to the much-loved zombie mode.

Uprising will also deliver four new maps which include, ‘Magma’ which is based on a Japanese village surround by volcanic eruptions. ‘Encore’ which takes place  within an abandoned London music festival offering plenty of run-and-gun opportunities. ‘Vertigo’ is set in a futuristic high-rise in India and ‘Studio’ will offer a remake of the classic map ‘Firing Range’ set on a Hollywood movie back lot, showcasing themes such as sci-fi and old west.

Uprising will be available for 1200 Microsoft Points on April 17, unless you own the Season Pass meaning the DLC will be yours for free.
