Battlefield 3: Aftermath Details
The Battlefield franchise is once again in the news this week, DICE have revealed new information regarding Battlefield 3’s Aftermath DLC pack. The official site has stated that the DLC is set in Tehran, Iran and as the name suggests it will be in the aftermath of an earthquake that will show, “a continuing struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation.” The DLC pack will apply vertical and horizontal gameplay as the cracks and fissures provide covers in the urban environment, “Heavily modified” transport and civilian vehicles, “specially adapted to deliver deadly force to the enemy” will also be making an appearance in the expansion pack.

The specifics included in the expansion will add four new maps, one new game mode and new assignments, achievements and dog tags. Not official release date has been set, but as stated at E3 this year the expansion will drop sometime in December. As per usual, Battlefield 3’s content will arrive one week early for the PlayStation 3.
Aftermath will be the fourth expansion pack to be released, out of the five announced packs come to Battlefield 3.Following the release of Back to Karkand in December 2011, Closer Quarters last month and Septembers upcoming Armored Kill, which recently had details announced regarding what content will be provided in this expansion.
Battlefield 3’s content will end in March 2012 with End Game, but Battlefield franchise fans won’t have to wait long for more Battlefield goodness as the beta for Battlefield 4 will be going live in autumn of next year. After the official announcement of the games existence, a few weeks ago.
Each pack is available for individual purchase, but purchasing Battlefield Premium will net you all five expansions for the discounted price of $49.99 (North American). Many have choose to purchase the content this way, with EA announcing over 1.3 millions players have purchased the subscription. The Premium subscription also gives players additional in-game weapons, priority severs, double XP weekends and new dog tags.
