‘Assassin’s Creed Unity’ Season Pass Detailed, Visit 16th Century China

Ubisoft has revealed the contents of the Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed Unity, which will further explore the background of Unity’s protagonist, Arno Dorian. The Season Pass will contain Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, a new Assassin’s Creed saga that will allow players to venture into new lands and time periods that the series has never explored, and Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings which will continue Arno’s story.

Firstly the Season Pass will include Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings, a new story driven campaign which will follow the events of Assassin’s Creed Unity. In Dead Kings Arno will leave Paris for Saint Denis, a troubled city with an extensive underground that holds crypts of deceased French kings. The new content will house self-contained missions as well as a new Guillotine gun, which deal an explosive amount of damage from short and long range. Players will also be able to undertake new treasure hunts, murder mysteries, contracts and new cooperative missions; which new weapons, gear, skills and outfits can all be carried back to the main game.

The aforementioned Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, will take place in China and offer a stand-alone narrative. Chronicles is being developed by Climax Studios and will be a 2.5D reimagining of Assassin’s Creed. Climax Studios posted images of a similar project last year, with many speculating it would be a return of the Prince of Persia franchise, but it seems like that was not the case.

Players will explore the Middle Kingdom in the 16th century as the Assassin, Shao Jun. This isn’t the first time Shao Jun has been included in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, as she was originally introduced in the short animated film Assassin’s Creed Embers, as Ezio Auditore’s protege. Shao Jun is the last remaining Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood and is hell-bent on revenge, utilising new Assassin gear.

The Season Pass will also continue Arno’s journey in Paris, which will include more missions, weapons and customisations options. Players will be able to upgrade their customised Assassin’s attire and encounter three added missions. Alongside that players will get access to over 30 new weapons, equipment, outfits, and the exclusive Fleur de Lys sword on launch day.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is scheduled to release November 11 in North America, November 13 in Europe and December 4 in Japan for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, while the Season Pass content will be released in early 2015.
