All Sony Studios Working on PlayStation 4

President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida, has confirmed all 12 Sony owned studios are working on PlayStation 4 games. In an interview with IGN, when asked if all fair to say all Sony first party studios are working on PlayStation 4 games, his reply was

“Is it fair or not fair? It is fair to say.”

This confirmation leaves many to question what exactly the other first party studios are working on, since we were only shown 3 studios at the PlayStation 4 unveil. Suck Punch is working on inFAMOUS: Second Son, Evolution on DriveClub and Guerrilla Games is working on Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Killzone: Shadow Fall

Studios such as Studio Japan, Studio London, Guerrilla Cambridge, Sony San Diego, Polyphony, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Media Molecule and Studio Bend.

Our best bets would be Naughty Dog working on Uncharted 4 for an E3 reveal, Polyphony working on Gran Turismo 6 Studio London possible working on a PlayStation 4 SingStar. The rest of the studios future projects are unclear, though we could assume Media Molecules next console release would incorporate PlayStation Move in some way.

The interesting piece of information from story is Studio Bend, who haven’t made a console specific game since 2004. With their focus settled in handheld development on the PSP and PlayStation Vita, with their last game being Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Could this rule out a Vita sequel to Golden Abyss for the time being?

This is very promising for the launch of PlayStation 4, knowing that all of Sony’s main studios are at work on next generation gaming. When we hear more regarding Sony’s first party future titles, we will let you know here on Analog Addiction.
