Activision Releases Details Regarding PS3 To PS4 Upgrade Program


Activision has been the first company to release further details surrounding Call of Duty: Ghosts’ participation in Sony’s recently announced PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4 upgrade program.

The optional program will allow consumers who purchase Call of Duty: Ghosts on PlayStation 3  to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version of the game for a limited time at a suggested retail price of AU$10, €10, or £10 depending on your region.

“Today we’re announcing that anyone who buys Call of Duty: Ghosts for the PS3 will be able to upgrade to Call of Duty: Ghosts for the PS4 for a limited time at a suggested retail price of just 10 dollars, 10 euros or 10 pounds,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc.

More information regarding the exact process of upgrading your PlayStation 3 version to PlayStation 4, will be announced in the coming weeks. Ubisoft and EA will also be participating in the program with Watch_Dogs, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Battlefield 4 respectively. However no information has been released regarding these titles at this time.


Call of Duty: Ghosts will release on PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe. The Xbox One version will release alongside Microsoft’s next generation console.
